Walk of Life
The Walk of Life is a unique garden dedicated to celebrating the memory of loved ones. The beautiful walkway consists of a water fountain with floral landscaping and shrubbery, and a bench where patients and family can come to reflect and share stories, thoughts and feelings with one another.
3HC is pleased to offer an opportunity for you to honor your loved one through the dedication of a stepping-stone. Each 4×12 stone will become a permanent memorial in the Walk of Life and can be engraved with the name, year of birth and year of death of the individual being remembered. We ask for a minimum donation of $250 for each stone, a donation that will help meet the needs of hospice patients at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center and throughout eastern NC.
Stones are engraved throughout the year, with semi-annual dedication ceremonies to follow. You will receive an invitation to the Ceremony taking place closest to the completion of your stepping-stone.
Please note, due to the coronavirus pandemic, dedication ceremonies are currently not taking place in an effort to keep the patients, staff and community members safe.
To order your stepping stone, please print and complete the Walk of Life Order Form, attach your check or money order made out to “3HC, Walk of Life” and return to:
