"On February 22 our mother passed away at Kitty Askins. it is difficult to put into words our appreciation for the excellent and passionate care she received from all the staff at your Center. It was such a difficut time for our family, but the love and never ending support and love you all showed to our mother and all of us was so absolutely beautiful. Each and everyone of you are indeed God's angels here on earth. We miss our mother terribly, but we know she is at peace and we will be eternally grateful for your support during mom's time at Kitty Askins."

"Words can not express how appreciative and grateful I am that my mom could spend the final week of her life in such a wonderful place. Your staff were always ready and willing to do whatever was needed to make my mom comfortable and extremely well cared for. The homelike atmosphere and always smiling, kind faces made that time in all of our family's life much more endurable. My mom was able to tell me that she liked it there when she was coherent. To say thank-you seems so powerless but I do mean it from the bottom of my heart. God bless you as you treat each patient with dignity and love."

"You all were such a blessing to our family during mom's brief stay with you. The loving care you gave her helped to ease our anxiety and feelings of helplessness. And the care and concern for us was very evident. I am most grateful."

"We would like to express our gratitude to each of you who so tenderly cared for our father during his last week here on earth. Kitty Askins Center will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are so thankful for the love and care that not only Dad received, but also each of us. We always felt such an outpour of love as we entered the care center, it truly felt like a home to us. Thank you again to all of you who made this possible.

“Both my mother and brother passed at Kitty Askins. Mother was in 1998 and my brother was in 2006. Kitty Askins is absolutely one of the finest places you could ever hope for during such a hard time. The staff is greater than words can begin to describe...just absolutely wonderful, caring, dedicated. The center has a home-like atmosphere. If your loved one can't be in your own home, this is the closest they'll get to it. Without a doubt, Kitty Askins is the palce to be when dealing with the passing of a loved one.”

“There's no way in the world to describe our experience with Kitty Askins. It's kind of like grandchildren, you don't know what it's like till you have them in your life. That's the same thing with Kitty. Until you're there, you just can't imagine the experience. From the very first moment as we were coming through the doors, you could feel the love just jumping through the walls for us. There was no doubt that we were in the right place for what we were dealing with. Every single staff member was more than we could have wished for - even late at night, the people who came into the room were wonderful, just full of compassion. It was so obvious to me that the people who work there know it's not just a juob, but a ministry. Kitty Askins and its staff are just too good to be true.”

“I was very nervous about my first visit, but your friendly nurses set me right at ease. I needed nursing assistance with an incision from an unscheduled C-section. I was quite anxious to have a nurse come to my home, since I was home alone with a new baby, the laundry was not done, the floor not vacuumed, and I was exhausted with lack of sleep, and the pain pills I had to take to be able to adequately care for my baby. Your nurse assured me all that was normal, gave me hints for holding the baby, which would not put pressure on my incision, and helped me realize I was doing the best I could at that moment. I saw three of your nurses, each wonderful! As I healed, I greatly looked forward to each visit. It was like having a friend drop by who just happened to be a nurse! If more people had health care like this, more people would not be afraid to seek health care! Thanks for providing a valuable team of professionals.”

“To the Staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Thanks for always giving special care to my brother-in-law, John. Thanks especially for the Nurse/Mechanics you have here. Where else would you find two nurses that would jump-start your car in 102 degree temperatures? Thanks again!"

“I am writing this on behalf of Ann. She was my nurse during the time of my illness from March to April. I just want you to know that I would recommend her to work with any patient. When she came into my home she had a free and loving spirit, lots of compassion, very gentle, and most of all, a loving and and caring spirit. I'm a Nurses' Assistant and I know the characteristics of being a good nurse. It was a pleasure having her to assist me in my need. I just want you to be aware of the valuable person you have working for you. You can know your job and do it well, but a person's personality says a lot. I'm so blessed to have her to come into my home. May God bless her richly as she continues to bless God's people with her gentleness. Again I say thanks and may God bless you all in your performances.”

“(The Kitty Askins staff) spent time attending to (dad's) every need, making sure he was always comfortable and answering all our questions. We felt like family around them, so at home! If any one of them walked in our front door now, we would be honored to break bread with them, and help them any way we could. They have all come to mean so much to us. We love them so!”

“This letter is to express our appreciation for your services to our community. We have worked with families that have used your facility and services, and they are always very appreciative of the efforts provided by Home Health and Hospice Care. I lost my grandmother about three years ago and she was a patient at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was treated so nicely by the nurses as her health deteriorated. This center is one of the biggest assets to our community, allowing families to gather and say goodbye in a setting that is so much like home.”
“As Mayor of the City of Goldsboro, I wish to express my appreciation for the services Home Health and Hospice Care, Inc. provides to so many citizens and families in our community. This facility plays a positive role in the lives of many people who find themselves in need of the services currently offered by 3HC. You and the entire staff are to be commended.”

“I would like to take a moment to say what a lifesaver the Medicaid Personal Care Program and 3HC have been for my grandmother...and for my family. Two years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Since this time, my mother has provided nearly continuous care of my grandmother in an attempt to keep her at home. We were very fortunate that 3HC provided Medicaid Personal Care, which would send someone to my grandmother's home to assist her with her daily living needs. The service was well organized, very professional, and extremely dependable. Without this service...my grandmother would have had to be placed in a nursing home, which is not what we wanted.”
