Reverse Drawing & Silent Auction
 Hospice of 3HC hosted its very first Reverse Drawing and Silent Auction on February 6, 2003 at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, NC. And everyone agrees that it was a major success!
The festivities began with a much anticipated Silent Auction. Merchants and artists from Wayne, Lenoir, Johnston, and Wilson counties generously donate a wide variety of items ranging from weekend getaways to home decor. Although everyone enjoyed bidding on these items, the real excitement centered on theme baskets created and donated by various 3HC clinical offices and and corporate departments. Basket themes included "By the Sea", "Pictures of Life", "Beginner Gardener", and a "Rainy Day".
After the Silent Auction, attendees sat down for an exquisite dinner prepared by the chefs at Walnut Creek. Pianist, Steve Howell, provided background music while guests enjoyed the company and laughter of friends and family.
Finally, as dinner ended, the most anticipated event of the evening arrived!! The Reverse Drawing for $10,000! Tim Finan, renown emcee for functions in Wayne County, announced ticket numbers until only three remained. The three ticket holders chose to split the grand prize. The lucky grand prize winners were Bonnie and Edward Spence, Susan Lewis, and Edna Powell. The winners plan to invest the money and make it grow.
All in all, the evening was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed the festivities. Just the fact that all proceeds benefited Kitty Askins Hospice Center and Hospice Programs made the event wonderful in itself!
