Annual Fashion Show and Silent Auction
On October 25th, Home Health and Hospice Care hosted its annual fashion show/silent auction/dinner fundraiser at Walnut Creek Country Club. This year’s theme was “All About Travel” and was dedicated to the memory of Hospice Medical Director, Dr. Milton Lownes.
Approximately 300 participants enjoyed the evening’s activities beginning with a silent auction and a scrumptious dinner of salad, chicken, potatoes, and peas and carrots followed by fruit cobbler and ice cream for dessert. No one left hungry from this feast!
Without a doubt, the most exciting items at the auction were the baskets donated by the different departments and clinical offices of 3HC. Each uniquely designed basket represented the level of caring our employees have for 3HC hospice programs and Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The famous Band of Oz opened the entertainment portion of the evening followed by Wayne County’s own Southern Wayne Saints. The Saints danced and sang to many rousing numbers which set the pace for the evening’s main event: a fashion show.
The fashion show was emceed by WTVD-11’s own weather person, Pati Darak. Pati delivered a very high energy performance allowing the crowd to actively participate with the fashion show. With its theme of “All About Travel,” fashions were modeled from local businesses such as Belk’s, Noah’s Nook, Purple Cow, and Naomi’s. There was even a surprise guest appearance by The King himself, Elvis! ....well, sort of....
And the best part of the event? All money raised from the silent auction, ticket sales, and program advertisements will benefit our hospice programs and Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
We would like to thank and recognize those businesses and individuals whose generous contributions and donations made the fashion show and auction possible. And finally, a big thanks to all of you, both staff and volunteers, who helped make our largest annual fundraiser a big success!
