3HC In Search Of Volunteers Make a Big Difference In Just a Few Days
Goldsboro, NC, June 4, 2004 - 3HC, a leading local home health and hospice provider serving eastern North Carolina, announced today the company is in search of volunteers for the 3HC Wings! Camp, which will take place from August 20-22, 2004 at the Woodmen of the World Camp in Dover, NC.
Wings! is a grief camp that began in 2000 to offer children, ranging from ages from 8 to 18, support from trained counselors and other children who have experienced similar family losses. Along with the normal camp experiences, like swimming and campfires, Wings! offers recreational programming with an emphasis on bereavement.
Grief-related activities are conducted in small groups led by trained counselors. Children are encouraged to express themselves through arts and crafts and other activities.
Volunteers are needed to create a nurturing, safe environment for the children. Some of the activities volunteers help with are:

Professional volunteers such as physicians, nurses and social workers are needed at the camp as well.
All volunteers must complete a two-hour training course to be eligible for service at Wings! camp. The training session is scheduled to take place on August 15, 2004 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at 3HC's corporate office, located in Goldsboro, NC. In addition, a criminal background check will be completed for all volunteers.
